Final Lot Arrived - RMG Exposed Being Installed!

Our final Live Auction work has arrived from photographer Gerald Pisarzowski!

Called  Lutyens Diptych, the work is a hand-coated platinum/palladium print. This kind of print is only possible with a large negative, so it is shot with a large format camera. Learn more about this photographer and his techniques by visiting his website.

Gerald has two upcoming exhibitions of his work, one at the John Cleary Gallery in Houston Texas opening March 24th and running till April 21st, 2012 and another in Oct 2012 at the Academy of Spherical Arts in Toronto.

With just a few days to go until the event, be sure to get your tickets now as they are expected to sell out. If you are unable to attend the event on Saturday, the RMG Exposed exhibition space will be open for public preview Thursday (10am-9pm) and Friday (10am-5pm) during which time you are free to make reserve bids on the works that will be auctioned on Saturday night at the main event!

We hope to see you this week.

Final Live Auction Lots Arriving

The countdown to RMG Exposed 2011 is now on. Less than 2 weeks away, the works from our juried photography competitors have arrived and we are thrilled to announce 4 new lots to our live auction. Two are profiled below, and all can be seen in on the Live Auction Lots tab.

The first is from Meaghan Oglivie. Meaghan was accepted this past July to a summer residency with the School of Visual Arts for its Still and Moving Imaging program. She was immersed in a creative atmosphere working alongside established international artists. During their intensive training, they produced, directed and shot a short film which had its debut screening in Chelsea, New York. Also, making the experience memorable was being exposed to influential speakers including Guggenheim's Curator of Photography Jennifer Blessing, American Film Critic Amy Taubin and Art Critic and Historian Max Kozloff. Meaghan then travelled to Costa Rica, where this photograph was taken.

We have also received a work from Toni Wallachy. Toni is a Toronto-based photographer who has participated in the Contact festival, the Queen West Art Crawl and has shown at the Gladstone Hotel and Hang Man Gallery among many others. Her artist statement indicates she is interested in "the alchemy between what is earthbound and what is not." This is apparent in this photograph, Orchid Dream #1.

Join us Saturday November 12th for RMG Exposed 2011 to see the works in person, enjoy live music, see a live auction, nibble on great appetizers and enjoy fine wine.

New Additions to the Live Auction Lots

So many of our colleagues come together to help make RMG Exposed a success. We have been steadily receiving donations from galleries and photographers and these donated works make up a stunning selection of works to be auctioned in our live auction event.
Kate Wilhelm
Leigh-zzie Borden

Today we received the framed work from Kate Wilhelm. Kate's series of portraits these bones shall live depicts women in their homes, but these women are also roller derby girls. Captured in their derby gear, these portraits portray the multifaceted women who participate in the sport, demonstrating vulnerability behind the tough exterior.

Her work Leigh-zzie Borden is available in our live auction. See all the works we have announced so far on the Live Auction page.
