Martie Giefert first studied and worked as a graphic designer and later returned to school to earn his BFA in Photography at NASCAD in Halifax. After working for a number of years he returned to school again to gain his MFA from Guelph University. As an artist his interests have always been architecture, perception, history, memory and culture. His works have been exhibited across Canada and the USA. Giefert lives and works in Toronto, Ontario. This image is from an ongoing project called The Arena Series.

Ron Hurwitz was born in Cleveland, Ohio and studied at Indiana University, and The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. During a successful career as a symphony musician, Hurwitz took up an intense personal study of photography. Since then his work has been exhibited at museums and galleries in Cleveland, Washington, New York, Miami, Toronto, Lausanne, and Paris. Mr. Hurwitz is the recipient of two Ontario Arts Council Grants as well as the 2003 First Prize for Limited Edition Books from The Alcuin Society for his book, The Gryphons of Paris. His photographs of Paris can be found in such notable French collections as the Bibliothèque Nationale, the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris, Maison Européenne de la Photographie, and the Musée Carnavalet.

James Knowles creates landscape and travel photographs from Canada to Europe and the far east. His abstract and nature images complete a body of work that encompasses many facets of the natural world. His works are held in both Canadian and U.S. collections.
A recipient of various awards and medals, James is a member of the Toronto Focal Forum. His photos have been featured in the ROM's Rotunda Magazine, Nature's Best Photography and Peterson's Field Guide to Mammals of North America. His public works include the ROM's bat photograph currently hanging above Bloor Street at University Avenue in Toronto.

Richard Litke was born in Ontario, Canada and has primarily lived in or near St. Catherines. He began experimenting with photography in 1975, through this experimentation developed his own unique conceptual photography style, letting ideas become photographs, instead of the reverse. Though his images are often engineered as he creates his own subjects, the images are faithful to the creation and are not digitally altered.

Rob MacInnis holds a diploma in film direction from the New York Film Academy in New York City as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Photography) from NASCAD. His work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally including Art Basel Miami, Scope Basel Switzerland and Photo LA. Meaghan Ogilvie is a Toronto-based photographer whose work has won the People's Choice award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition and the Corporate Purchase Award at the Toronto Artist Project. In the summer of 2011 Meaghan was accepted into a summer residency with the School of Visual Arts, NYC for its Still and Moving Imaging program. Following this intensive program, Meaghan travelled to Costa Rica to begin a new series that explores nature and our relationship with it. This print is the first released from this new series.

Gerald Pisarzowski was educated at the University of Toronto and was trained as a photographer with courses at Humber College and Ryerson, as well as workshops with Fred Picker, Freeman Patterson and Elizabeth Siegfried, and private study with Paul Hoeffler. Primarily, however Gerald is a self-taught photographer. His prints are hand-coated platinum/palladium prints completed in limited edition and are created using a large format camera. His work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions across North America and is held in private and corporate collections as well as public collections such as the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, the City of Toronto Archives and the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.

John Reeves was born in Burlington, Ontario and studied at Sir George Williams Art School in Montreal and the Ontario College of Art and Design. His work has appeared in every major Canadian magazine and his work has included portraiture of many noted personalities including artists, musicians and authors. He was elected to membership in the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts (RCA) in 1975 and received the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators (CAPIC) Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2002. His work is held in numerous private, corporate and public collections, including The Portrait Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario and The Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography.

Chris Shepherd was born in Grimsby, Ontario and started off his artistic career as a painter, but turned to photography as a means to familiarize himself with Toronto. It was this process of exploration that piqued Shepherd's interest in urban landscapes and led to a fascination with the under-appreciated tableaus of metropolitan life. Shepherd studied at Ryerson, Waterloo and McMaster Universities and has participated in Nuit Blanche, and exhibits in Canada and the United States.

Toni Wallachy is active in the Toronto photography community. Her involvements include the Beach Photo Club, the Artists Network of Riverdale and the Greater Toronto Camera Club Council, among others. Toni won a CAPA Gold Medal for Best Contemporary at the 117th Annual Toronto Salon, has shown in the Contact Festival and has had numerous solo and group shows. Her work explores emotion, space and detail creating a visually rich feel.

Kate Wilhelm holds a B.A. from the University of Guelph and was named a 2011 Critical Mass Finalist and a 2011 Flash Forward Emerging Photographer. Wilhelm won The Pikto Prize in the 2010 RMG Exposed juried competition. Her work has been exhibited locally and internationally, including in New York City. Her work is included in the book, The M Word: Real Mothers in Contemporary Art, published in 2011, and will be shown at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in the summer of 2012.
