TIMELINE SCHEDULE
Sunday 23 September, 2012 by 11:59 pm - Deadline for all submissions
Friday 28 September, 2012 – All applicants will be notified of their status via email
Wednesday 10 October, 2012 by 5:00pm - Deadline for selected works to be delivered to the RMG
Friday 9 November, 2012 – RMG Exposed Preview x RMG Fridays
Saturday 10 November, 2012 - Prize winners will be announced at RMG Exposed
CRITERIA
Applicants must submit work via the online 2012 Entry Form at the RMG Exposed webpage. Please fill in all required fields.
Artists may submit up to 3 photographs into the juried competition under the category options of:
Photojournalism/Documentary
Landscape/Nature/Architecture
Conceptual/Non-Representational
Student (Eligible entrants must be enrolled in a post-secondary institution. Proof may be required upon request.)
PLEASE NOTE:
Maximum upload size must be 2.5MB or 2500KB
Minimum print dimensions for submission is 16x12 inches
Maximum print dimensions for submission is 26x34 inches

SMALL PRINT: Please read all of the below information before entering the RMG Exposed Juried Photo Competition. By participating in the RMG Exposed Photography Competition and Auction you are acknowledging that you have read, understand and accept these rules.
The RMG Exposed Photo Competition and Auction is open to ALL photographers except employees of The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, and the immediate families of such employees or sponsors and corporate partners of the event.
Selected artists will be notified by email on Friday 28 September, 2012. If selected, artists agree to donate for sale an exhibition-quality print of the image(s) selected to the RMG (72 Queen Street, Oshawa, ON) no later than Wednesday 10 October, 2012 before 5:00pm. Works selected that have not been received by the deadline will be disqualified from prizes. Photo Competition award winners and auction selects will be chosen by the jury based on artistic and technical merit. Decisions of the jury will be final according to the stipulated deadlines.
Copyright of images will remain with the photographer but the RMG will claim right to use selected entries without payment of fees, in publicity, promotion or advertisement in support of RMG Exposed 2012. The RMG reserves the right to reproduce the image in marketing and promoting RMG Exposed events for a maximum of two years. When used, the submission will be marked with the proper credit line to the artist.
All award winning entries and auction selects become the property of RMG Exposed to be sold. All images will be clearly labeled and credited to the artist while they are on preview and during the auction. Contestants must be the sole owner of the copyright for all images and are responsible for model releases on any image submitted. As such, the contestant holds the RMG harmless from any breach of copyright in Canada, the U.S.A. or internationally. Successful purchasers of an image at the RMG Exposed Auction obtain the single right to hang and privately display the purchased image(s). No other rights are included or implied. Buyers must sign a copyright acknowledgement prior to receiving the work.
Top jury selections will be part of the RMG Exposed live auction and will be professionally framed by the RMG. Prize winners will be announced during the event on Saturday 10 November, 2012. The RMG reserves the right to withdraw or substitute any of the previously advertised prizes at any time prior to the event.
The RMG will matte and/or mount all works for public preview and they will be sold at the silent/live auction during RMG Exposed. Special care will be taken in the handling of all prints. The RMG, its staff, volunteers, sponsors, and suppliers retain no liability for any loss, damage or delay that may occur during handling.
Limitation of Liability
By entering this contest, all entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless The Robert McLaughlin Gallery and its partners, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, agents and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this competition or any competition-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
The RMG assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, or delay in operation or transmission; communications line failure; theft or destruction of or unauthorized access to contest entries or entry forms; or alteration of entries or entry forms.
