The RMG

The Robert McLaughlin Gallery is the largest public art gallery in Durham Region. The Gallery serves the educational, intellectual, and aesthetic needs of the community both locally and nationally, while collaborating with other galleries that have similar goals.

The RMG collection consists of over 6,800 works of art housed in an exceptional and dramatic exhibition space designed by Canadian architect Arthur Erickson as a part of the Civic Centre in downtown Oshawa.

Dedicated to the collection, preservation and exhibition of the best in Canada's art heritage; the gallery features an extensive selection of Canadian masterpieces. There is a strong emphasis on modern and contemporary artists and specific to the collection is the outstanding representation of works by Painters Eleven and their contemporaries.
